CFD conference Melbourne Australia

The conference will cover the application of CFD in the mineral processing, metal production, power generation, bio-engineering, chemicals, food, oil and gas and other process industries. CFD is proving an invaluable tool in the design and optimisation of equipment and processes in these industries and papers in these areas are strongly encouraged. The conference continues a successful series of meetings aimed at promoting and advancing the application of CFD in the minerals and process industries where technologies often involve challenging aspects such as multiphase flow, combustion, phase change, non-Newtonian flow, etc.

The programwill present papers on a wide variety of applications including coal combustion, hydrocyclones, casting, fluidised beds, smelting, furnaces, slurries, steelmaking, crystallisation, stirred tanks, granular flow and many others.

About CFD casting Training (17-18 Dec, 2012)

The Casting Training course consists of two days of application specific lectures and hands-on work using FLOW-3D Cast. The intent of this format
is to follow each lecture with an exercise in which the concepts of the previous lecture will be applied to a real-world simulation. Users will gain an understanding of the governing equations, the structured gridding methodology, TruVOF free surface tracking, and the FAVORTM method for embedding complex geometries in structured grids.
